Johannes obtained his Ph.D. from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena in Germany, conducting his research at the Leibniz Institute on Aging under the supervision of Prof. Christoph Englert. He continued his work there as a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on the generation of a transparent killifish line for in vivo analyses in research on aging, with a particular emphasis on tumorigenesis as well as the role of cellular senescence. In June 2024, Johannes joined the Zon lab to identify new compounds aimed at increasing immune cell infiltration in tumors. Outside the lab, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching/playing soccer, and cycling.
